About Rep. Beaty, Jr.

Rep. Howard M. Beaty, Jr. is serving his third term in the Arkansas House and serves as the House Majority Leader. He represents District 95 which includes Ashley and Chicot counties.

For the 95th General Assembly, Rep. Beaty serves on the House Judiciary Committee, the House State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee, and the Joint Performance Review Committee. Rep. Beaty is also the House Chair of the Arkansas Forestry Caucus.

Beaty has over 30+ years of experience in banking and economic development and has served as President of two Arkansas state-chartered banks. Arkansas Business named him as one of Arkansas’ 250 Most Influential Leaders in 2020 and again in 2021.

He graduated as Valedictorian of his class at Sarepta High School in Louisiana and also earned the Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America. He then graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

He is a member of the Energy Council and the Heritage Foundation’s Heritage State Advisory Coalition. He serves as Arkansas’s representative on the board for the Center for Legislative Energy and Environmental Research.

In 2022, Rep. Beaty was selected to serve in the Emerging Leaders Program at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.

He is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. He continues to be a member of the Rotary Club of Crossett where he previously served as a Board Member, Secretary, and President.

Rep. Beaty is a member of the Ashley County Republican Committee where he previously served as County Chair and Chair of the Ashley County Arkansas Board of Election Commissioners. In addition, he is the Chair and Founding Member of Crossett Community Beautification Committee and a member of the Crossett Area Chamber of Commerce. He is also the President of the Crossett Economic Development Foundation and a member of the Friends of the Crossett Public Library.

Rep. Beaty is a Perpetual Member of Crossett Masonic Lodge #576 and a member of International Fraternity of Delta Sigma PI, Beta Psi Chapter, Louisiana Tech.

He previously served as the former Chair and Board Member of Ashley County Single Parent Scholarship Committee, Board Member and President of the Crossett Public Schools Education Alliance, and Board Member and President of the Crossett Area Chamber of Commerce.

He attends First Baptist Church of Crossett where he has served as Trustee and Chair of the Facilities Use Committee.
